Fire Inspector Hiring Notice
The West County EMS and Fire Protection District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Fire Inspector.
Intentions:
The District will be hiring one as soon as possible.
Position minimum qualifications:
JOB REQUIR
- Twenty-one (21) years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible, occasionally unusual hours, as incidents may require.
- Ability to read and maintain familiarity with applicable codes and code amendments and know how to reference them
- Ability to arrange, schedule and coordinate various inspections
- Ability to arrange, schedule and coordinate various inspections with other agencies or individuals
- Ability to perform the necessary annual, occupancy and other inspections as assigned in a professional manner
- Ability to document various aspects of all inspections using software and/or other media provided for such purposes
- Minimum 5 years verifiable experience in the fire service and/or with an agency that performs various building, occupancy, commercial business and construction inspections OR certification with the Missouri Department of Public Safety Division of Fire Safety as a licensed Fire Inspector
- Knowledge of basic computer operations as required to efficiently use fire prevention software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of customers, follow-up on customer related issues and represent the Fire District in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
- Willingness to attain Fire District-paid certifications as deemed necessary by the District.
